Stuffed animals.
Do we just burn them because they are impossible to keep organized?
~ Brigie
My answer:
In an ideal mom world probably yes! But we all know how important stuffies are to our kids Keep the truly important ones, donate any that came from a fair, a freebie,a random gift from a holiday ie. valentines or easter, any with holes etc. Keep the favorite sentimental ones, that goes for you too mom, I still have the bear that mom gave me and a few from when the girls were small. Realistic animals are kind of cool to keep in case you want to play zoo or something!
You could try to get the kids to choose one or two toys they no longer love to donate to a pet shelter or an organization,or tell them that its helping someone less fortunate. This can be challenging as its often hard for younger kids to let go so make it a trade off for something that isnt another stuffie. Money or donuts work quite well lol.
You can store them a few different ways:
A very large basket, once its full its one in one out, just like the clubs when we were younger!
A collapsible laundry basket
A stuffed animal hammock
A beanbag so they can be kept and saved but not always out on display
Under the bed storage bins that can be pulled out when its time to feed the animals and easily hidden afterwards
The top shelves of a tall bookcase where the stuffies can watch your children play
A closet hanging organizer
The Internets answer:
A few great ideas and pointers here.
Stuffed animals bring warmth and joy to our homes, but managing a growing collection can be challenging. Instead of drastic measures, consider these creative and practical storage solutions to keep your cuddly companions organized:
1. Plush Toy Storage Tubes
Designed to hold numerous plush toys, these clear tubes offer a neat and space-saving solution. For instance, Kmart's $16 Plush Toy Storage tube can accommodate up to 45 five-inch plush toys, making it a favorite among collectors.
2. Storage Hammocks
Utilize corner wall space by installing fabric hammocks. They create a cozy, vertical display, keeping toys off the floor and adding a decorative touch to the room.
3. Over-the-Door Organizers
Transform shoe organizers into stuffed animal storage. By hanging them over doors, you maximize space and keep toys easily accessible.
4. Under-Bed Storage Bags
Make use of the space beneath the bed with under-bed storage bags. Wayfair's Under-the-Bed Storage Bag is an affordable solution, currently priced at just $13, and is suitable for bulkier items like comforters and pillows.
5. Floating Shelves
Install floating shelves to display your stuffed animals. This method keeps them organized and adds a decorative element to your space.
6. Clear Plastic Bins
For stuffed animals that aren't played with daily, clear plastic bins with lids keep toys clean and easily identifiable, making storage straightforward.
7. Wicker Baskets
Decorative wicker baskets can corral stuffed animals, adding a touch of sophistication to your storage solutions.
By implementing these strategies, you can maintain an organized space without parting with your beloved plush friends. Choose the methods that best fit your space and aesthetic preference to keep your collection maneagable and tidy
I hope this helps!
